‘Window to the World’ is part of the ‘Yayasan Rumah Alfred’, the ‘House of Alfred Foundation’. The ‘Yayasan Rumah Alfred’ was founded in April 2003 in Singaraja, Bali. It is an independent, non-political and non-religious foundation of people who want to reform education and make good education accessible for all. To a great extent the foundation operates with funds generously contributed by sponsors.

The ‘Window to the World’ School is a private community school recognized by the Indonesian Education Ministry and registered as a ‘National Plus’ School. Part of the local funding comes from school fees, which are paid according to income, and from local funding initiatives.

Support by Rotary Club of Bali Lovina
Among these local supporters is the Rotary Club of Bali Lovina who adopted this project as a ‘Club Focus Project’ in 2007. Other local initiatives come from parent groups and local businesses in the area, which recognize the importance of an educational project that supports good education and increases literacy in the community. Other income is generated from donations of individual sponsors and international NGO’s.

Funding
Funding for running costs of the school is carried out by The ‘Bali Educational Foundation’ (Stichting Educatieve Projecten Bali), based in The Netherlands and registered at the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under registration number 342 11 947.
