Community Outreach

At Window to the World we are taking part in educational programs for the community beyond the classroom door. Through our community outreach programs we take part in local environmental programs as organized by the Rotary Club of Bali Lovina, local NGO’s or schools in the area.

Our library is called Pondok Baca Lovina or Lovina’s Reading Corner. It grew from a couple of hundred to a couple of thousand books through a Rotary sponsored project and due to its successful reading programs it could help raise the funds for a sister library in the village of Munduk.

Activities for the community
Through the experience we developed in our own library we are now able to assist the Pondok Baca in Munduk with the realization of reading projects and management of their library. We organize workshops for parents on personal hygiene and dental care and young adults receive programs on AIDS/HIV awareness.

The school works in cooperation with a local NGO helping children with Down syndrome. Together we organize shared play and learning days, to help breaking through the taboo for physical handicaps.

"At Window to the World we strongly believe that it is our social responsibility to contribute to the development of our community. Our students, often from underprivileged families themselves, will grow in character, realizing that every person, small, big, rich or poor is a needed person to this world".-Decky Aldrin, founder and teacher-
